Apple has not yet confirmed when it will introduce the iPad 3, the next version of its popular tablet computer. But the consensus among industry observers indicates a release date in early March. We've compiled a list of top 10 things we'd like to see in the third generation iPad.

The internet is already buzzing with iPad3 release date rumor mills starting from its retina display-like high resolution, A6 quad-core processor, and support for 4G LTE networks. Unless there’s a drastic change to Apple’s release cycle for the iPad, we will see the iPad 3 released in the first 3-4 months of the new year – most likely in February or March 2012.

In addition to these what if Apple surprises us with a host of other killer features. Below are some of the items that are on top of the wish lists of iPad users.

1. Siri on iPad 3

Apple’s Siri personal assistant — the darlingof all iPhone 4 S users, could use a bigger living room. Imagine dictating Siri to send a mail for you!

Needless to mention, Siri on iPad 3 can attract bloggers and enterprise customers. Recently some references were discovered showing ‘Siri Dictation’ in the iOS 5.1 Beta update. A new section labeled ‘About Privacy and Dictation’ in the keyboard menu raises further hopes on Siri featuring in iPad3.

2. Improved iPad Camera

The back facing camera on iPhone 4S delivers 8 MP and 1020p HD video. With the current 720p .7 MP iPad 2 camera it leaves us with lot to wish for. Hope Apple comes up with a much better resolution camera in iPad 3 that also delivers 1020p high definition video output.

We would love a flash to be put on the iPad 3 camera — right now on iPad 2, if you are not in bright light the pics don’t come out all that great. How about a much better better camera with a xenon flash?

3. A Blazing Fast Quad-Core Processor

Rumors have already been suggesting that the upcoming iPad 3 will be blessed with a super-fast quad-core A6 processor. However, it won’t be self defrosting like the Intel processors.

And considering the other Android tablets around, the quad-core processor on iPad 3 is hardly a stretch to believe.

4. An Upgrade to 1GB of RAM

I was hoping to see this on the iPad 2, and I think it’s definitely time for this in the next gen. This would be a big boost for iPad gamers and game developers, as well as for all of us who like running a number of powerful apps of all kinds on our iPads.

5. Next Level Gaming

How about having 3D support and Vibration effects? That would enhance the gaming experience on an iPad. App developers can leverage the power of A6 quad-core processor to develop gaming space further.

With the technology we have, it’s normal if you want to purchase new gadgets. These devices will not only make you look cool. Obviously, it can also make your life easier. Take for example your mobile phones, if it weren’t for those, you won’t be able to communicate fast. And let’s talk about the internet connection. Don’t you think that it makes us closer? You can learn new things in just a click. Thanks to your modem, connecting is such a breeze.

Electronic gadgets are ubiquitous nowadays, with people increasingly relying on them for communication, information retrieval, entertainment and many other facets of their daily lives. Fragility is the cost of this convenience and, in order for the many gadgets that have become essential parts of our lives to continue to work correctly, they need to be properly taken care of if you want your gadgets to be protected from costly damage.

Price comparison websites are the best starting point when it comes to finding the electronic gadgets you are after, rather than aimlessly surfing the web or wandering around high street mega-stores like a zombie. There are also popular online blogs for finding gadgets, and a great number of shopping websites where you can easily find the specific gadget and often at a great bargain price.

The first point to bear in mind when looking after precious gadgets like a desktop pc is that they must be handled with some care because, by and large, they tend to be rather fragile. Internal components can become dislodged if the gadget is dropped accidentally, and this may make it inoperable. All such fragile gadgets should be kept in protective cases when not being used.

The question is, how do you take care of your gadgets? You are always using your devices on its full potential. But have you ever thought on how you can handle these properly? If you won’t do it, you will have to spend more changing units year after year. Here are some of the most practical tips on how you can make your gadgets last longer.

1. Protect Your Gadget From Water:

Water is one of the greatest enemies of electronic devices because it is an almost perfect conductor; if a gadget falls into water when it is switched on this can cause its components to short circuit. Water also corrodes metals to varying degrees, so if a mobile phone or other handheld device gets wet it should be wiped dry immediately to prevent the moisture from seeping inside.

2. Clean Your Gadgets As Necessary

Electronic gadgets need to be regularly cleaned as well. Keeping your gadgets clean and dust-free is important, as it may affect its performance.

A soft cloth should be used to wipe any accumulated dirt away, avoiding the use of chemicals and harsh cleaners because these may damage the case. Mild detergent in the water is usually enough; apply with a soft, damp cloth.

3. Protect From Extreme Heat/Cold Exposure:

Extremes of heat and cold should be avoided, as internal components can be irreparably damaged by swings of temperature. If taking them into such extremes cannot be avoided, then they need to be adequately protected in suitable bags and other casings.

4. Keep Your Gadget Away From Food and Drinks:

Many people, including me, work on their table with their computers and other tech stuff while eating or drinking something. This has been very common; however, we should be very careful about this because one small mistake, like accidentally spilling your juice, can damage your gadgets.

To avoid this, put your precious gizmos somewhere safe and make sure that your food and drinks are far enough from your things so even if there’s an accident, you’ll only have to worry about how to clean up the mess.

5. Always Repair Your Gadgets At An Authorized Service Center:

Another problem with electronic devices that cannot be separated from their utility is their sheer complexity, and when they malfunction in some way it is always better to get them looked at by an expert than simply opening the casing and ‘having a go’, which usually just makes matters worse.

If in case your gadgets broke down, don’t bring it to cheap repair centers. In the end, you will be paying more. It would be best if you bring it to well known repair centers. That way, you know that you are putting value on your money.

Bonus Tips: Take Good Care of Gadget’s Battery:

Batteries are a particular cause for concern in things like iPhones, iPads and laptops. Laptops should be left plugged in, which causes less battery strain, and the latest version of the battery should be used with iPads and iPhones. On all devices, check the programs available for extending and optimizing battery life.

Take out adequate insurance on your precious electronic gadgets as a final line of defense against their damage or loss. Many of these devices are quite expensive, and apart from the cost of replacing them there is the loss of irreplaceable data to consider; this should be regularly backed up on various media, such as external hard drives and discs.

I know I haven’t covered everything and there are a lot more things that can be done to protect your gadgets. These are just some basic tips that you can do. How do you take care of your gadgets?

Deciding between Apple iPad 2 or the amazon Kindle Fire? Reading on the iPad from a sitting or lying-down position is fairly comfortable, because you can rest it against a leg or a sofa cushion. But if you're accustomed to holding a book up to your face while standing in a packed commuter train, the iPad will give you more of a workout than you might have bargained for.

Ever since it’s launch, Amazon Kindle Fire has posed an awkward competition to other market leading tablets [e.g. the Apple iPad 2] and also has made consumers wonder — “why would I spend $500 and up for an iPad 2 or Galaxy Tab when I could get a slightly smaller Kindle Fire for a fraction of the price?“

Also, there is a group of consumers who are confused and wonder –”which is better for reading – an eBook reader like Kindle Fire that can also work like any other tablet or a bigger and fully capable tablet like the Apple iPad 2?“

The answer is not simple and it really boils down to one’s personal read and preferences. Ebook readers tend to be lighter and sturdier than tablets of the same size. On the other hand, Tablets can be used for a lot more than just reading books and magazines – you can watch videos, check email, surf the web, view/edit office documents and download various apps and games.

Also, other factors like your budget, ease of finding 3G connectivity or Wi-Fi hot-spots, duration of usage, need of other features beyond the e-Book reader capability etc will help you decide what to buy finally.

Amazon Kindle Fire eBook Reader Vs. Apple iPad 2

During last holiday season both of these mighty gadgets were at tie and on the top of holiday wishlist chart, but here is a head-to-head comparison of specs and features of both the gadgets to help you make that decision. Introducing, Amazon Kindle Fire and Apple iPad 2:

Kindle Fire

Amazon dropped a bomb on the tablet world with the Kindle Fire, which is both cheaper and more powerful (with a dual-core processor) than anyone expected. And unlike most were skeptical about, its performance has lived up to its promise, making it one of the strongest contenders for an eBook reader that can make any other tablet owner envious.

- Screen: 7-inch, 1024 by 600 pixel LCD screen
- Weight: 14.6 ounces
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi, USB
- Battery life: 8 hours
- Operating system: Android 2.2 (modified)
- Price: $199 from Amazon

iPad 2

The product that started the tablet trend, Apple’s iPad is still the market leader. Like always, its next installation aka the iPad 2 is even more exciting than the original product (iPad). It’s set apart by great hardware design, Apple’s slick mobile operating system, and a well-stocked App Store. It’s also the priciest tablet currently available.

- Screen: 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology
– Weight: 1.33 pounds (601 g)-1.35 pounds (613 g)
– Connectivity: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G (3G version only)
- Battery life: 10 hours
- Operating system: iOS 4
- Price: Starting from $499 from Apple

If you want to stick with “just reading” E-books, and maybe some newspapers and magazines (not just in black and white, but colorful news reading) — Amazon Kindle Fire is probably your best bet. In addition, it also lets you do most of the tablet features at a much lesser price tag.

On the other hand, if you want more functionality you’ll need to step up to a tablet. High-end full-size tablets like the iPad 2 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 are much more versatile than e-readers, and they are powerful enough to even replace your laptop for some tasks. But they’ll cost you upwards of $500 to start.

Editor’s Choice:

If you’re a serious reader and don’t care about frills, go for the Kindle Fire. But if you want something with all the bells and whistles, the iPad 2 is the best all-in-one tablet device available on market today.

So which gadget are you going to buy when you go shopping your next eBook reader? Apple iPad 2 or the Amazon Kindle Fire?

Whether you are a self-proclaimed computer geek, or a passive technology enthusiast, it wouldn’t be a surprise if at least one item on your 2011 Holiday wish list was a technology gadget of sorts. Tablets and e-readers such as the iPad, Kindle Fire and Nook are expected to be among the top tech gadgets purchased for holiday gifts this season, according to surveys.

What are bargain hunters going to be looking for this coming Black Friday and what’s on everyone’s holiday gift wish list? What’s on your wish list this holiday season? If you aren’t really sure and hoping to hear what others are wishing this holiday season, here are the top gadgets people want to receive as gifts this holiday season, 2011/2012.

And no, it’s not that nifty netbook PC or a marvelous mobile device, but are tablet computers and e-readers such as the iPad, Kindle Fire.

According to a Retrevo Pulse Report, Apple’s elegant line of high-tech tablets and Amazon’s awe-inspiring line of e-readers are at the top of people’s holiday gift wish list this year. Yes, that’s right — Apple’s iPad 2 and Amazon.com’s Kindle Fire tie as the most desired gadget gifts this season.

Apple’s iPad 2 and Amazon’s Kindle Fire Top Holiday Gadgets Wish Lists

For bargain hunters, tablets top the list followed by HDTV sets, laptops and smartphones. But those who are looking forward to getting shiny, metal objects this season seem to prefer Apple products more than anything. If you’re shopping for a tech geek, you’ll be safe purchasing a new iPhone 4S or iPad 2 for them.

If you are planning on purchasing a gadget to gift a child this holiday, then you might want to go for Amazon’s Kindle Fire e-reader.

It didn’t surprise us that iPads and Kindle Fires beat out other gadgets in this “year of the tablet” however, we were surprised to see digital cameras holding on despite the competition from phones. Meanwhile, Blu-ray players and iPod Touchs finished at the bottom of the list but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t make great gifts.

Electronics and computer accessories are expected to be on the shopping list of 32 percent of consumers, according to the National Retail Federation’s 2011 Holiday Consumer Intentions and Actions survey. That compares to 28 percent in 2010.

Rich or poor, it’s nice to get a gadget gift. When we looked at the gadget wish list by income iPads were on top for both lower and upper income brackets while the Amazon Kindle Fire was more popular among the very high income group.

ALSO READ: Top 20 Best Yet FREE Apps For Apple iPad 2

Laptops were high on the list for low incomes while a digital camera was up there in high income households. Of those looking to dole out more money this year on holiday purchases, 14 percent plan to spend more on technology purchases than they did the previous year.

So, what is in your top holiday wish lists when you decide to buy some tech gadgets gifts this holiday season?

Jeff Bezos is challenging Steve Jobs, with the launch of Amazon’s $199 pocket-friendly Kindle Fire budget tablet on Wednesday, marking the most high-profile challenge yet to Apple Inc.’s dominant iPad; but if it will truly become the ‘iPad Killer‘ remains to be seen. The Kindle Fire tablet computer is smaller and less than half the price of Apple iPad 2.

The Kindle Fire is a tablet version of Amazon.com’s Kindle e-book reader. Announced on 28 September 2011, the Kindle Fire will have a 7-inch display and sell for $199, compared with $499 for Apple’s cheapest iPad, Amazon executives said. The device, a souped-up version of the Kindle electronic-book reader, will run on Google Inc.’s Android software and will hope to become the first credible response to the Apple iPad.

It is scheduled to be released in mid November. Its external dimensions are 7.5″ x 4.7″. Excluding its external border the screen is a little larger than a 4×6 picture. Mr. Bezos said that all the content on the Fire will be backed up remotely on Amazon’s cloud servers at no cost to the consumer, hinting at a comparable service to Apple’s iCloud.

The Kindle Fire will offer Wi-Fi connectivity and comes with a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, the company’s $79-a-year membership service that includes streaming video and free two-day shipping.

“What we are doing is offering premium products at non- premium prices,” Bezos says. Other tablet contenders “have not been competitive on price” and “have just sold a piece of hardware. We don’t think of the Kindle Fire as a tablet. We think of it as a service.”

If the Kindle Fire is half as good as it looked in Bezos’ conference room, it will fan the fears about Amazon’s growing dominance. The tablet funnels users into Amazon’s meticulously constructed world of content, commerce, and cloud computing. Just like owners of Kindle e-reading devices tend to start buying all their books from Amazon, Kindle Fire owners are likely to hand over an increasing chunk of their entertainment budget to Jeff Bezos.

However, is the Kindle Fire going to be the best tablet PC in market today? Will it ever become the ever-elusive iPad killer? “I don’t see this as an iPad killer,” said Leung, who is based in San Francisco. The Kindle Fire “caters to a much lower-end consumer. A bigger screen and a more powerful processor over time — those are the two main things that will enable them to get there.”

So we believe, the Amazon device faces an uphill battle against the iPad. Unlike the Apple tablet, the Amazon Kindle Fire doesn’t have a camera or microphone, and it doesn’t offer cellular connection, working only with Wi-Fi. It also has fewer Amazon apps as opposed to over 100,000 native iPad apps.

However, while we don’t think the Fire offers the same level of features as the iPad or existing Android tablets, we do have high hopes that Amazon’s broad content portfolio (books, video, music) and the half price will help Fire find buyers seeking low-budget tablets.

Amazon has had great success selling e-reader Kindles. But, so far, no other tech company has been able to take a bite out of iPad’s market. Amazon could change that.

The consumer that wants email, web and media, the Kindle Fire is a great product. Anyone who wants to take their tablet to work to have a sort of double-duty as a work and leisure device, the iPad is going to be a better choice.

Here are the best apps that bring the iPad and iPad 2 to life. If you want to read a book, watch a movie, make a video call, paint a picture or just browse on the sofa, there's an app for you. As they say, apps For work, play, and everything in between. Today we are showcasing some important iPad apps that are quite useful yet free.

You’ve seen the commercials; Apps are what makes an iPad come to life. Whether you have an iPad or iPad 2 that means you need to decide which apps you should purchase and download right away. Here are the very best ones for work, play, creation, consumption and everything in between.

There are currently more than 100,000 native iPad apps available, although, as with the iPhone, a big chunk of those are filler. But the good apps are really good: creative, innovative, imaginative, useful and fun (or at least several of the above). So here is our pick of the top 20 best iPad (and iPad 2) apps of year 2011:

WindowShop: Windowshop is Amazon’s attempt to reinvent its website for tablets, and it does a great job. As with eBay, the focus is emphatically on product images and flicking between items with swipes and other gestures.

Barrel Tones: An amazing 3-D drum experience! Lay down your beats over top of home-grown jam tracks. These drums are the real-deal! Low latency, fully animated, made by musicians for musicians! Also, check out the Algoriddim Djay App For iPad if you are a music fan.

Tweetdeck (free): Another brilliant port to iPad, Tweetdeck shows you the feeds of your Twitter friends, your own mentions, and your direct messages. It works well because there is enough screen space to actually read all of this content.

Snikkr: Snikkr for iPhone and iPad is the first social productivity tool for iPhone. It supports mapping, navigation, directions, and local search. Snikkr also lets you safely share your location, and your favorite places, with friends, inside and outside of the Snikkr network.

Citrix Go To My PC: Just like BomGar remote support app, GoToMyPC for iPad makes it simple to control your computer while away from your work area, but the lack of multitasking support, and latency issues, may dampen the experience. GoToMyPC is the fast, easy and secure way to instantly connect to your Mac or PC, with access to all of your files, programs and network.

Vevo: MTV doesn’t show music videos any more, but Vevo is the nearest we have to a successor. Its iPad app is arguably the best way to use the service, too, tapping and swiping to browse a wide collection of videos.

123D Sculpt:This is a digital sculpting app: you pinch and rub the screen to mould virtual clay, buying in-app theme packs for 69p each including “Medieval” and “Transportation”. A tactile and creative delight.

Dragon Dictation: Featuring very accurate voice transcription and the ability to share messages via e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter, Naunce’s dictation app is both fun to use and immensely helpful—as long as you’re connected to the Web.

Kindle: Amazon’s e-reader app narrowly gets the nod over Apple’s own iBooks, with fewer visual frills but a large collection of ebooks, including regular discounts and offers. It also syncs your reading position across different devices.

iChromy: It’s an iPad browser that looks and feels like Chrome. And since I use Chrome every single day, that’s a good thing! It has tabbed browsing, an incognito window, and an omnibox (a shared box for typing in URLs and search terms) too. As close as you’ll get to Chrome on an iPad. Free

Hold your breath guys – HTC Jetstream 10.1 inch 4G Honeycomb Tablet is launching with AT&T on September 6. Undoubtedly, Verizon has remained extremely forceful with tackling the 4G LTE marketplace by delivering some of the best tablets and new mobile phones, ones like the HTC Jetstream, whilst AT&T rests casually while they anticipate their moment to unveil the switches. Instead of postponing the unavoidable, AT&T chose to progress with things by delivering to consumers their original 4G LTE supported tablet running Android Honeycomb, also referred to as the HTC Jetstream. But could it be the ultimate iPad killer? Read on to find out…

Since this one is the second tablet in the HTC smart gadget collection following the HTC Flyer, it meets all expectations consumers have and more because of its superb hardware “beneath the hood” to balance its capability of Internet surfing speedily not too far in the near future. Hence, its high cost factor from the beginning may outwardly upset its capacity to develop into a popular forge for AT&T’s future next-creation data arrangement. Some of AT&T’s cellular devices are not in the line of cheap mobile phones or devices.

The latest AT&T package consists of the following:

• microUSB cable
• Device charger – wall charger
• Quick Start Manual
• HTC Jetstream

HTC Jetstream 10.1 Inch Honeycomb Tablet Design:

Succeeding the identical design pattern developed through a previous device, the HTC Flyer, the HTC Jetstream has an appearance similar to the Flyer and feels like an even larger version of its seven-inch marketplace relative; however, it displays a darker gray and silver shade that is not really that bad-appearing in the least! It is actually quite attractive and striking! Above all, it radiates a fair quantity of sturdiness because of its polished aluminum covering and smooth-touch spots on its backside, however oddly, a decent tap on the rear exposes a bit of emptiness with this particular tablet.

It is neither the most streamlined tablet (a little over half an inch thick) or the lightest in weight, weighing only twenty-five ounces, in the marketplace, we prompted to remember one of Motorola’s previous designs, the XOOM, because there are a few likenesses. Is that fascinating? Certainly not; however, at any rate, it exemplifies every one of the features we regularly discover with additional leading market HTC devices.

Certainly, the newest AT&T development to enter the market in September of 2011 a great technological advancement in the line of new mobile phones; hence, it is not one of the cheap mobile phones, as the price for this latest device will start at around $700 USD.

HTC Jetstream Specs and Features:

• 10.1 inch Display – Bright HD Screen for the greatest entertainment encounter
• Multitasking Capabilities – 1.5 GHz-Dual-Processing Unit (CPU) – Snapdragon – MSM8260 — Qualcomm
• 4G LTE – The first one AT&T has developed and delivered to consumers
• Android (TM) – 3.1 Honeycomb – More than one thousand application options obtainable via the Android marketplace

Technical Specs:

• The new mobile phones have a battery (73 mAh volume) capable of functioning for around 12 hours – users can use the standby battery function (up to 37 ½ days)
• Weighs 25 oz. and is around 7 inches x 9.87 inches x .51 inches in size
• RAM (memory) – users can expand memory up to at least 32 Gigabytes – comes with 1 GB
• HD capacity (Hard Drive) – 32 GB
• Wireless capabilities – GSM, Edge, GPRS — Bluetooth capable – users can upgrade firmware via Internet and phone – over the air
• LTE – speeds of 4G LTE – 700/AWS – go online anywhere wireless Internet is available
• Global connectivity
• Go online through AT&T’s Data Network options – 3G connection
• Camera – Rear-facing and Front-facing
• OS (Operating System) Android – 3.1 Honeycomb
• Screen Resolution – 1280 x 800 (150 ppi)
• Screen kind – WXGA – colors 16 million – HD multifunction touch-screen
• Keyboard on screen in touch-screen format
• HTC Jetstream Ports – HDMI, Incorporated Microphone and microphone jack – connect speakers

Sizing everything up with one of the not so cheap mobile phones, however dreamy type of new tablet from AT&T, with screen pixels as listed above, it is unquestionably comprehensive enough to decipher even the tiniest of text, hence it is really somewhat beneath the point of the screen resolution utilized by additional comparable new mobile phones.

Truthfully, there is no reason for folks to be alarmed; however, the color development is somewhat flat looking, particularly when placed in comparison with the appealing color creation delivered with the Flyer’s screen. Regardless of that aspect, the tablets broad viewing points allow it to keep its view no matter what way users look at it. Consequently, during the HTC Jetstream review process, we have noticed that we need to shield the screen from the daylight while outside in order to see it because it does not have the greatest screen brightness.

Sadly, when it comes to new mobile phones on the marketplace, even though the HTC from AT&T has some dreamy features and great application alternatives, we were frustrated with a couple aspects regarding the Jetstream, the power button and the volume rocker function. Regrettably, we noticed that these buttons could be activated accidentally with the slightest bump. They are activated far too effortlessly and that can annoy consumers. These function buttons are positioned in locations where an individual’s palms sit upon the phone, hence, someone can hit them by accident and activate the volume or power occasionally.

HTC Jetstream Camera Capabilities and Features:

• Front-facing camera – 1.3 megapixels – Green LED light beside the camera, which turns on when the user starts the camera
• Bottom edge of mobile phone – consists of a port with microUSB/MHL capability that permits the phone to:
- Provides a reflected experience on an HD TV if users implement an adapter (MHL)
- Charge
- Transfer Technological Data

This particular model in new mobile phones has an easy to use power button and the power jack is 3.5 mm in size, the front-facing and rear-facing camera are great features as well, with flash capabilities (LED Flash). The volume rocker is a nice feature, but individuals will need to be careful not to activate by mistake, which might be an annoying aspect of the Jetstream by AT&T for some folks. The microUSB/MHL port is a characteristic many users will favor because several mobile phone users enjoy connecting additional products to their tablets by USB.

The Rear-Facing Camera and Speaker Notches:

• 8 megapixels, instant focus with LED flash (dual flash) – situated towards the better right corner of the phone
• Speaker notches – located close to the bottom border of the tablet
• When consumers remove the plastic cover that surrounds the phone’s camera, it is simpler to do than it is with the Flyer; however, after the plastic protector is removed, we notice that there are additional features, the micro SD card and SIM card slots.

While we performed the review, we found many great characteristics for the HTC Jetstream, delivered by AT&T in September 2011, and we noticed some annoyances consumers might endure. Even though this particular tablet might not be one of the cheap mobile devices on the market, costing around $700 USD as it enters the mobile phone/tablet Android marketplace, many individuals might enjoy the great capabilities we found while reviewing it and believe the money spent is well worth it to make it yet another best tablet alternative to Apple iPad.

Overall, the newest addition to the cell phone/tablet market offers people a new way to surf the World Wide Web, offering thousands of application options, allows people to go online globally and has wireless capabilities, touch screen options and more. Any way we slice the bread, consumers love having new mobile phones and/or tablets, even if they do cost a bit more and have a couple annoying things, people will still try the new HTC Jetstream by AT&T and enjoy modern technology at their fingertips.

A week after India’s telecom major Reliance Communications launched a $286 Android tablet, the other communications giant Bharti Enterprises said Thursday it had launched the cheapest tablet PC — a $220 tablet computer Magiq — as a domestic challenger to Apple’s iPad.

The $220 (Rs 9,999) Android-based Indian tablet PC has pretty standard looking specs including a 7-inch touchscreen, a 2MP front camera and a rear camera and 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded using microSD cards up to 32GB. The Magiq supports Wi-Fi and 3G and is powered by a GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and a 2200 mAh battery.

The tablet comes with a nice comfortable stand as well to make your professional work much easy. It adds to the functionality of the product by making it portable at any given time!

Bharti’s Beetel Magiq tablet might not be the “best tablet PC” around, but certainly is the latest entry as the so-called “tablet war” heats up in the nascent market where manufacturers are seeking to tap predicted strong demand in the country of 1.2 billion people.

In price-conscious India, the domestic handset vendors with their cheaper products have grabbed around 18 percent of total domestic handset sales, up from a less than one percent share in 2008, according to industry data.

“We are following our policy and offering a luxury to masses which is absolutely in their budget. It has all the features of a iPad but yet so very affordable. It is meant for tier 2 and tier 3 cities’ tech savy consumers. A tablet is an aspiration and we all want to flaunt the same. Magiq is making your dream come true,” said Vind Sawhny, ED & CEO, Beetel Teletech during the launch of this much anticipated product.

He further added, “At Beetel, we remain committed to introduce affordable and feature-rich mobile devices which offer great value-proposition and suit the customers’ requirements and style. As part of this endeavor, our design and development team is working on prototype devices which will change the landscape of the Indian mobile market.”

The tablet makers are also hoping customers will leapfrog to cheaper tablets, avoiding costlier personal computers, as they did when they bought mobile phones instead of waiting for land line phones.

Bharti Beetel has promised that the tablet will get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update at a later date. Airtel offers some data plans for the Magiq tablet.

Users can avail 2GB of 3G data for the first two months, for both prepaid and postpaid connections. What do you think about this new entrant in the already over-crowding tablet industry?
