In fact, it is just the reverse!

When you let your laptop battery run dry before charging it again, you are also ensuing that you are wasting a cycle of the battery. The more number of times you do this, the more and more battery cycles you end up wasting — thus reducing it’s life.

So it is always advisable to plug in the charger whenever you can while using your laptop — this ensures that your laptop runs on the main power supply and NOT on your internal battery. I have been doing this in my Dell Inspiron that is 2 years old now but has a battery health of above 97% intact!

I thinking pluggin in of power cable for the Laptop will also ruins the Battery Power. Mostly use laptops without the Powercable(If battery is full) as it is always suggested to use only when the battery is Low.

These are some great tips, thanks for the ideas! I just barely had to buy a replacement laptop battery, but now that I’ve got my new one I’ll be a little bit smarter and follow your advice here.

i have an older (2006) dell laptop- had the 6 cell battery in all the time- would only get about 40 min of juice on all minimal power settings- got another battery- physically removed from the computer after charging- no issues then

Try not to charge your laptop continuously. occasionally remove your laptop away from a power outlet.
