Top 5 Awesomely Humongous TVs

There is nothing better after a hard day at the office than kicking back on the couch and watching some awesome Direct TV programming on the tube. No matter whether you are watching a hilarious new TV show, a Hollywood blockbuster, or a big-time sporting event, the experience is always better on an immense, hangar-sized television.

The following is a guide to the top 5 best over-sized televisions with at least 100 measurable inches available for your viewing pleasure:

Sharp Aquos 108-inch LCD TV

The list starts with the Sharp Aquos 108-inch monster which has every merit to boast to be the largest LCD TV. This marvel of technology offers viewers a sparkling resolution of 1920 X 1080 pixels. This is the largest commercially available LCD TV, and it would be the dream of any home theater aficionado. Excellence like this does not come cheap, as the price tag is just over a hundred grand.

Panasonic 150-inch Screen ‘Life Screen’ Plasma TV

An even more monstrous home TV is available for plasma fans. Panasonic offers a 150-inch screen that boasts a stupendous 4096 X 2160 pixels. This 11 foot high behemoth retails for a cool $150,000, and it has the danger of keeping its owners trapped inside and glued to it for the rest of their lives.

Techovision Luxio 205-inch LED TV

LED TVs are upping the ante in the big-ass TV sweepstakes. The company Techovision sports an LED model called the Luxio that measures in at a jaw-dropping 205 inches. This 1344 X 768 resolution screen will only set its owners back a mere half a million.

Fujitsu Super Frontech Vision 231-inch LED TV

An even bigger LED is available from Fujitsu. The Super Frontech Vision boasts a mind-boggling size of 231 inches, which is the biggest TV currently available to the general public. It runs around the same price as the Technovision Luxio, $500,000.

It is bigger than the Luxio, but it has poorer resolution. It only sports a 512 X 288 pixel resolution, so viewers need to be sitting 15 feet away from it to get a clear picture. Not to mention that its owners will probably have to knock out a wall to install it.

Godzillatron 134-feet Super Huge HDTV

Those are the best big screens available to the general public, but there are of course bigger TVs at venues such as sports stadiums. The most impressive is known as Godzillatron, located at the University of Texas. This massive $8 million HDTV measures an enormous 16.9 ft. X 134 ft., sporting a resolution of 2064 X 848 pixels.

So if you have some money to burn, why not purchase one of these beauties? It will give your family a whole new appreciation for movie night.

I had no idea such huge TVs existed and had to be custom-made to order. I’d sure love to have that 108-inch TV in my living room. Although I’d love a bigger living room first, lol.

While part of it is true, having a decent sized (47″ or 55″) HD LED TVs these days is a big advantage if you like to watch Discovery channel or if you are a big fan of Sports. even I didn’t believe it until I owned one.

But, just as you said, we want a TV on the wall; NOT a TV wall – agreed :)

  7. Those are very big televisions! Having such a screen in any home definitely takes entertainment to another level. The price is however too much but it all depends on what you like. If you like to live large then these are just the tellies for you.

  8. LOL this article is awesome, I chuckled inside :)

I just dont understand how some of those TV’s being ass massive as they are, don’t even support 1080p LOL. Oh well, still really neat. Now I just need to win the superbowl so I can afford one :p
