There's the issue of security. Will it be safe? And there's the matter of privacy since our data will be hosted on their servers. But I like the concept. Indeed it's "diabolical" in a good way - isn't that an oxymoron? LOL. I'd have my work-related stuff on the cloud so I can access them anywhere. But I'd like to have the option of saving some of my work locally. On the other hand Microsoft is dominating the OS market ever since we have OS. So they will be little too reluctant to give way to a newbie (even if it is "The BIG 'G'") to share their market. While OS like Ubuntu and Windows are full fledged high end OS, Google Chrome OS is a promising low-on-your-hardware-resources OS that is aimed at revolutionizing present day cloud computing. For starter, unlike Windows or Ubuntu you would require an internet connection to use Chrome OS. So I wouldn't say that Google is wasting their time on it.
