I am all for anything that will protect the innocence of children. There are so many dangers on the web and a parent can't always stand directly behind when they are surfing the web. So having this bright indicator that both parent and child can see and immediately back out of the page is great. :)

This sounds great. Will this feature extend to Google searches on mobile phones? At present, most Internet enabled phones in South Afric are being used by teenagers to download porn: its really easy! I am looking for a way to put a specific and selective block on mobile phones without shutting down IM software and constructive Google searches - for learning purposes. At present, local mobile networks don't offer sophisticated search blocks.

It's perfectly fine to protect children from adult material. That's one of the jobs that responsible parents do. I firmly agree that adult material should not be available at public libraries.

I think this is a good feature, especially for families. Further, many schools (yes, even elementary schools) mandate a technology course or block. One of the things taught (to elementary schools), is how to use a search engine. This is a good feature for multiple reasons.

It won't affect me, 'cause I'm the only person that uses my machines @ home or work.
Thanks again for the article/post.
