The company has updated the following status of Google Talk to acknowledge the outage: We’re aware of a problem with Google Talk affecting a majority of users. The affected users are able to access Google Talk, but are seeing error messages and/or other unexpected behavior. The outage was first reported by users on Twitter, a social networking website. “Google talk being down is massively annoying! You don’t realize how much you take it for granted,” Pete Gould, a Twitter user said.

Many users reported that even before the outage, the Google Talk service was unreliable since morning. They said that in many cases the messages were not being delivered or right status of contacts was not shown.
