After a number of alpha and beta releases, Opera Software has announced the final release of Opera 10.50 for Windows, which they call “the world’s fastest browser for Windows“. Apart from performance improvements, Opera 10.50 comes packed with other new features, as well as improved integration with Windows 7.
The upgraded browser includes a new JavaScript engine, known as Carakan, as well as a new graphics library, dubbed Vega. “What that means to you: no more waiting around for a site to load,” Opera said. Opera 10.50 also incorporate private browsing, which lets you browse the Web without leaving a trail. This version lets you browse privately in a tab or a separate window. That’s not all. The new Opera menu button replaces the traditional menu bar, so you have a single-point to access all of Opera’s groundbreaking features.
Opera 10.50 is the fastest browser in almost all speed tests,” Lars Boilesen, Opera CEO, said in a statement. “But, more important than any speed test is the real-world speed during use. We designed Opera 10.50 to be easy to use, while making our unique features stand out, so you can get more out of the Web.“
Opera also promises a “leaner” browsing experience to allow for more content on the screen, as well as a new menu button that replaces the traditional menu bar.

You can download Opera 10.50 for Windows from Opera’s site (Linux and Mac versions are coming soon) — and if you’re running an older version of the browser you should seriously consider upgrading. Opera 10.50 is an excellent browser, and it’s been winning fans with its speed ever since the new Carakan JavaScript engine was bolted on. without any doubt Opera 10.50 is the best effort from Opera to date. I’ve not encountered any of the site-crippling incompatibilities that I had in the past, and even our own CMS loves the new version. Apart from the speed everyone is raving about, Opera’s trademark personalization and tweaking options are phenomenal. If you haven’t tried it, open opera:config in your browser and dig in.
Roll in additional features like integrated torrent downloading, Link synchronization, Unite, and Turbo, and Opera 10.50 has something for everyone — from casual users to browser-punishing enthusiasts.
If you’ve put off trying Opera before, now is the time. Take Opera 10.50 for a spin and share your thoughts!

I have started using it. Still testing it to know whether it is the fastest or not. According to this survey, its just the fastest but not the best…..
You made a good point. What is fastest is not necessarily the best; not always
I agree. Opera 10.50 is lightening fast.
