Nokia
An effective recycling scheme ‘Recharge Complete‘ by Nokia mobile phone company has paved the company to achieve the Outstanding Environmental Contribution award in 2009. The company reminds us about the elimination of PVC brought the Nokia into these so called image. Apple has come forward with a new ‘A greener Apple‘ with a view to reduce the hazardous chemicals used in the production of mobile phones. The company ensures rigorous monitoring scheme for its suppliers to facilitate fair treatment.
Sony Ericsson’s Aspen
Aspen mobile phone is a part of an initiative taken by the Sony Ericsson for protect the green environment. The gadget aims to reduce packaging and increase the use of recycled materials.
It has a power saving mode which monitor the use of energy and a software in it shows you the amount of C02 you saved. If you attain the full charge no electricity is required. The mobile is having touch screen facility with 320×240 resolution. The device operates in Windows mobile 6.5.3.

Surely a phone is as ‘green’ as the owner makes it? ie turning on/off features as and when they need them as well as using the sleep functions provided on most handsets.
