Capcom introduced the first brand new “Street Fighter V” character at EVO 2015. The brand new character called, Necalli is said to have come from a mysterious family background and he utilizes a wild and pure animalistic fighting style to brutalize his opponents.

“Players who enjoy a straight forward, hard hitting character will feel right at home with Necalli, as he possesses a wide variety of savage, close range attacks, as well as a command grab, all with the goal of demolishing his foes.” Capcom wrote on its blog. Street Fighter 5 is coming to PC and PS4 in March 2016, with cross-play. It will offer free-to-earn DLC rather than paid expansions that render the core game out of date.

However, players started reporting issues shortly after the beta test opened its doors earlier today, complaining of difficulties logging in to the game play. These problems were critical enough and Capcom took the test servers down entirely for a fix.

Although this may seem like a poor start, it’s probably a stroke of good luck for Capcom and Street Fighter 5! This is the exact type of things why game betas are offered. It’s way better to encounter game play issues now than when the full game goes live.

Here is what Street Fighter (@StreetFighter) has posted on their Twitter wall so far:

“We are aware that users are having issues logging in, and are working to address the problem. We will provide updates as soon as possible.”

“We have brought the servers down for temporary fixes as of 7:25pm PST. We will make a few fixes and bring it back up ASAP.”

UPDATE! At time of writing the beta test had been out of action and we’re waiting for an update from Capcom about the ETA of the fix.
